Welcome to the new web site for the Great Lakes Ice Association. The GLIA is a regional trade association organized for the benefit of ice manufacturers, distributors and their suppliers of the states/provinces in the Great Lakes area. The following states are represented in the membership: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Wisconsin along with the province of Ontario, Canada. The GLIA was founded in 1966 and is an outgrowth of various states/provinces with contiguous boundaries to the five Great Lakes. Those states/provinces in the Great Lakes area have similar weather patterns proving a common denominator of interest; and therefore, marketing and procedural techniques are generally and necessarily comparable.
